The Age of Context

The 21st century has been called the „Age of Context“ by authors Robert Scoble and Shel Israel (article | book). The amount of data flowing into our lives is constantly on the rise, as more and more devices go online, the natural environment is becoming more volatile, and stakeholders demand to be involved in our work.

As a result, our decisions have to take more and more contextual aspects into account. The complexity we are dealing with is increasing, but the classical methods of product management, business administration, and organizational development are not prepared for this. The decisions we are facing in a world that is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) require us to operate in polycontextural ways.

kontext.works is an account of research and method development for learning organizations and cross-functional alliances aiming to tackle the complex challenges society is facing.
